Georgia’s wine industry recorded strong export growth in the first quarter of 2026, underlining rising global demand for its products.

According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the country exported 17.3 million liters of wine to 51 international markets, generating a total revenue of 53.2 million dollars.

Compared to the same period in the previous year, export volumes increased by 5 percent, while overall value rose by 7 percent, pointing to both expanding demand and improved pricing conditions.

Several key markets demonstrated particularly strong performance, reflecting Georgia’s strategic focus on both established and emerging regions.

In Germany, exports reached 375,000 liters, marking a significant 32 percent year-on-year increase, while shipments to the United Kingdom grew by 9 percent to 86,000 liters.

China also remained an important destination, with exports rising by 4 percent to approximately 831,000 liters, reinforcing its role within the Asian market.

These results highlight Georgia’s ongoing efforts to diversify its export geography and strengthen its international footprint across Europe and Asia.

The figures further reflect growing global recognition of Georgian wine, supported by consistent quality, heritage-driven production, and targeted export development initiatives.
